Palace: Mindanao will soon recover its tourism

Manila, Philippines – Malacañang attempted to ease the fears of tourists wanting to visit Mindanao, saying the island will soon recuperate from terrorist assaults.

marawi“We understand the concern of foreign tourists,” Presidential Spokesperson Ernest Abella said in a statement. “Safety is on top of their minds.”

Abella said it is normal that a few tourists have chosen to cancel their visit to the Philippines since various government offices issued travel warnings following the declaration of military law in Mindanao.

Prior reports said tourists have been canceling their appointments for visits in the Philippines.
